National Policy on Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy

National Policy on Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy was approved by the cabinet on Oct 04, 2002. The main thrust of the policy would be to upgrade the education and research facilities in the sector, and integrate it into the national health delivery system. Among other things, it was proposed to enact a law to regulate education and practice in yoga and naturopathy, provide statutory status to the Medicinal Plants Board and tighten the quality control measures.
