Actual usage of Indian traditional medicines - NSSO begins survey

Though the common perception is that traditional medicinal systems like ayurveda and unani have wide acceptability in India, the first-of-its-kind survey on their actual usage will commence soon in the country.

The National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) has for the first time included some questions about AYUSH (auyrveda, yoga and naturapathy, unani, siddha and homeopathy) in their consumer expenditure schedule for the 68th annual round of socio-economic surveys.

One of earlier dreams on digitalization of Siddha literature achieved!

I was an internee in GSMC, Palayamkottai 6 years ago. 

I was having a dream to digitize all literatures related to siddha medicine. 

I've started with digitizing books from our college library with the book Theraiyar kappiyam (தேரையர் காப்பியம்). 

I completed my first book successfully and started to train my Juniors the same with support from the Principal of the college and NSS team.

Then several books were digitized by the team. 

I joined PG in National Institute of Siddha, Chennai. Everything changed

Siddha herbarium online!

A team of three, Dr Amritjude, Dr Danesh M .R, Dr Prasanth M who are internees of Santhigiri Siddha Medical college, have started a blog named Siddhaherbarium. Which  is an initiative to give some thing beneficial to Siddha buds and all individuals who are interested in the area of materia medica. These team says through slides and videos things will get easier and the impact will be more.
