A New Event in the History of Siddha Medicine

It is the time to upgrade institutional education in Siddha System of Medicine. Yes, a number of new PG Degree and PG Diploma courses can be taken up in coming years as these courses are being designed to be implemented. The Central Council of Indian Medicine organised a two day workshop for this purpose at Trivandrum on 18th-19th of this month.

Vathanoigal (Rheumatic diseases)

Post graduate i.e. MD(Siddha) Courses

Varma Maruthuvam (Varma Medicine)

Siddha Maruthuva Adipadai Ariviyal (Fundamental Principles of Siddha Medicine)

Pura Maruthuvam (External Medicine)

Kan Maruthuvam (Ophthalmology)

Kaathu, Mookku, Thondai Noigal (Ear, Nose & Throat Diseases)

Aruvai Maruthuvam (Surgery)

Thol Maruthuvam (Dermatology)

Marunthu Sei Lyal (Pharmacy)

Sool and Magalir Maruthuvam (Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

About 50 experts of Siddha System from various parts of India were participated in this workshop. This event is an important landmark in the history of Siddha Medicine. After the syllabi were finalized and notified these courses can be taken up by the Siddha Colleges.
